Marketing term in context

E-business

In brief: E-business includes business processes carried out or supported by digital technologies, from sales and service to supplier cooperation and internal operations.

How I use E-business in practice

I use E-business as a working framework, not as a presentation checkbox. I compare the company’s promise with what a customer actually experiences while searching, buying and using the product. I turn the gap into a concrete task and decide in advance how we will recognise progress. This makes a general term useful for product, marketing and sales.

What to watch out for

A workshop alone does not guarantee a result. Problems arise when E-business becomes detached from economics, team capacity or customer experience. Every claim therefore needs a source, an owner for the next step and a date when we will revisit it.

Questions for a decision

  • Which specific decision should the term clarify?
  • What supports our claim, and what is still only a hypothesis?
  • What will we do differently because of this decision?
  • Who owns the change and when will we evaluate its impact?
