Marketing term in context

Enhanced Conversions

In brief: Enhanced Conversions are a Google Ads feature that can send normalized and hashed first-party data with selected conversions for better attribution, subject to rules and consent.

How I use Enhanced Conversions in practice

I do not use the term as another presentation number. I define the decision it should improve, the data behind it and who will act. I check permission, value source, normalization, diagnostics and that unsupported or sensitive fields are not sent. I record the baseline, measurement date and interpretation limits to distinguish real movement from a changed tool, sample or query.

What to watch

Hashing is not anonymization or a legal basis. Incorrect data can reduce quality or violate customer expectations. Compare over time, on a stable sample and with business context. If the term leads to no next step, it is only another label.

Questions for decisions

  • Are we entitled to use the data for this purpose?
  • Are values created directly in the conversion journey?
  • Are normalization and hashing correct?
  • How will we measure benefit against cost and risk?
