Marketing term in context

Page header

In brief: A page header is the upper part of an interface, which usually contains the website identity, navigation, and important actions. In HTML, the term can also mean the header element or data in the head.

How I use a page header in practice

I use a page header as a working framework, not as a box in a presentation. I compare the company's promise with what the customer actually experiences while searching, buying, and using. I turn the difference into a concrete task and decide in advance how we will recognise progress. This turns a general term into a tool for product, marketing, and sales.

What to watch out for

A workshop alone does not guarantee a result. The problem arises when a page header becomes detached from economics, the team's capacity, or the customer's experience. Every claim therefore needs a source, an owner of the next step, and a date when we will return to it.

Questions for the decision

  • Which specific decision should the term make more precise?
  • What supports our claim, and what is still only a hypothesis?
  • What will we do differently because of this decision?
  • Who owns the change, and when will we assess its impact?
