In brief: PLA is an older name for product ads showing an image, name, price, and shop based on product data. Today it matters more to understand feed quality and campaign type than the abbreviation itself.
How I use PLA in practice
I use PLA as one part of acquisition. Before launching, I define whom I do not want to reach, what evidence the offer needs, and how I will recognize a relevant response. I continuously review search queries, placements, or comments according to the channel and feed the findings back into the content and offer.
What to watch out for
A cheap click or broad reach is not success by itself. With PLA it is easy to optimize activity that does not bring the right customers. Beware of automatic platform recommendations without knowing margin, capacity, and brand constraints.
Questions for decisions
- Whom do we want to reach and whom should we exclude?
- Which offer or message hypothesis are we testing?
- What happens after the first response and who owns that step?
- Are we measuring customer quality or merely channel activity?
