Försäljning genom bakdörrar

Backdoor selling

Backdoor selling is a sales tactic where a salesperson sells additional products or services to a customer without their knowledge or consent. This practice is often considered unethical as it takes advantage of the customer’s trust and can lead to dissatisfaction.

For example, imagine a customer goes to a car dealership to purchase a new car. The salesperson convinces the customer to also buy an extended warranty, undercoating, and other add-ons without fully disclosing the costs or benefits of these additional items. This is a classic example of backdoor selling.

Another example is when a customer purchases a software subscription and is later charged for additional features or services that were not clearly explained at the time of purchase.

It is important for salespeople to be transparent and honest with customers to build trust and maintain a good relationship. Backdoor selling can damage a company’s reputation and lead to loss of customers in the long run.
